WLW dropping Paul Harvey?

Paul Harvey's extended midday newscast is one of radio's best all time offerings when he's there.

What makes me sick...is Earl Pitts as he grew old a long time ago. I fail to see how he appeals to "tweens".
 
Paul Harvey's features sounded old 30 years ago. They've always reminded me of a Twilight Zone (I think) episode where some guy finds a radio that broadcasts stuff from decades before.

WDJO's demographics are 25-64?? TWENTY FIVE to 64?? Did Dusty's grandkids receive diaries last book?
 
RADIO IS DEAD TO TWEENS. Mentioning tweens in the same sentence with Paul Harvey or WLW, is obviously a joke to anyone with any sense. I'm sure there are a few twelve year olds tuning in to Brian Thomas or the stooge report, and there are probably a few who collect eight track tapes or play jacks too.

I too listened to Paul Harvey in junior high, but I didn't have an iPod, video games, or ritalin to keep me away from him.
 
I'm 42 and I'm not old. I always liked listening to him ever since I was a young kid.

Paul Harvey and WDJO will work well together.

I ran Paul Harvey for years, even on a CHR in 1998! There were good moments:

During the days of the media focusing on Tonya Harding and Lorianna Bobbitt, Paul Harvey would have fun. He would have a story regarding John Wayne Bobbitt and would add, "He is the one who lost his gilooly!". Simply priceless!

While running it on the CHR, Harvey mentioned a rumor about The Spice Girls breaking up. He added, "I'm sure you will remember where you were when you heard that story." Nice.
