WLW XM simulcast to cease soon?

If this is an indicator.

We are blessed with a couple of excellent stations for news and talk listeners via WJR-AM (760) and WWJ-AM (950). Add to that mix 700 WLW in Cincinnati, arguably the best programmed news-talk station in the country...known now, as it once was 60 years ago, as "The Nation's Station" when it operated at a staggering 500,000 watts! It's been available on XM Channel 173, but not for much longer. The powers-to-be at Clear Channel, who owns "The Big One," will take it off satellite radio because they can make more money with other programming that they can sell advertising on.

Sort of an unnamed source there, but Clear Channel recently dropped their XM simulcast of WSIX Nashville and replaced it with a classic hits music channel.

The agreement between XM now Sirius, and Clear Channel expires Dec 31ST so all of the Clear Channel stations on XM are going away not only WLW.

Just as well. I stopped listening to WLW on XM when Burbank retired.

This is a too common misconception, since people keep mentioning expiration dates and we keep passing through them. The agreement is perpetual until Sirius XM buys back the bandwidth.

Well this just really SUX!!!! XM 173 has been like a life-line for me to my hometown since the Spring of '06.
I guess someone is just going to give me a gig in Cincinnati. Listening just isnt the same and it sure as hell
isnt as convenient. "Oh the humanity of it all!!!"
