WLXX/Lexington mornings

I saw over on All Access WLXX(The Bear) is STILL looking for a morning show co-host. Weren't they looking for someone a couple of months ago? Why is it taking them so long? Comments?

I wonder if Bandy and Bailey would step back to Lexington?

They hired a girl, offered her megamoney and moving expenses. The problem is upon recieveing her first paycheck they renigged on the salary and refused to pay for her move.

This is the same company who had the brilliant idea of giving away a hundred grand. Except it was a candy bar and not the cash. They were sued by the winner and had to cough up the money anyway.

Now the Bear is running the secret sound contest. But, it too is a hokey contest. It seems the secret sound is really two sounds and not one. This is misleading. The contest should be called the "Secret Sounds" contest.

Nowhere in the material rules does it ever say that the sound may consist of more than one sound.

Oh well, the station sounds awful anyway. James Taylor, John Denver "Bear-ly" what one would consider to be country. Clear Channel's "Bull" sounds much better than the bullshit on the Bear.

The girl was Kim Diamond, right? Why didn't Kim ask for her salary
and moving expenses in writing? Did Cumulus even offer to write up a contract?

Actually, the clue on their website says nothing about there being more than one "sound." It says, and I've just copied and pasted here:

"There is more than one object used to produce the Secret Sound."

One SOUND. Multiple OBJECTS. If you make a sound by writing with a pencil onto a piece of paper, that would be two objects producing one sound, correct?

Doesn't seem very misleading to me at all. Seems to be just like every other Secret Sound contest I've ever heard in other markets.

Partially correct. However this material element of the rules was not disclosed in the original copy of the written rules or the rules that aired on each station prior to or during the beginning of the contest. The multible object facet was only exposed weeks after the contest had began creating a disadvantage for the contestants who competed in good faith during the first two weeks of the contest.

As for multible objects being a pencil and a piece of paper, that creates one sound even though it is two objects. In a court of law multible objects is a bit different from multible sounds. This would mean the sound resulting from the writing of a pencil on a piece paper being one sound combined with the sound of another object such as the door slamming on the market manager as he exits the radio station for the last time.

As far as other secret sound contests I have never heard of a major market station utilizing more than one sound. This might be because those major market stations actually intended on giving their prizes away.
