WMAC-AM signal issues

I can barely get WMAC-AM in Warner Robins. Did Cumulus do something with 940's sticks? Granted, I have issues with the SUV's radio on AM (lose signal in West Macon and is scratchy) but on the other car WMAC dies out past Byron.

Development surrounding the transmitter farm on Forsyth Road can't be helping the signal but I doubt that's the problem. Have you tried contacting WMAC's engineer? Or did Cumulus rid themselves of that excess baggage?

They sure wasted what was a good signal which reached even to South Georgia. Ah the days.... Maybe they should simulcast on whatever FM makes little money for them or if they own an AM south of Macon they should simulcast like Register does.

Who is their CE nowadays?

I remember getting them one night in Southern Maryland (NAS Pax River), back in 1973-74. I wrote Billy Sowell, and he said they were on the night pattern, so I must have gotten a multi-hop path all the way around the world.

BTW,anyone checked out the old Georgia Place (Radio Drive) transmitter photos on the GRHOF site?:

Wonder how well they got out, way back then?
