WMAF-AM in Madison hit with $8k fine for EAS violations

I am sure there are many more stations that not only have non working EAS equipment , they don't even have EAS equipment at all.....plus a new EAS box (or converter box) is now required for CAP/IPAWS as of June 30. I would think you are going to see many more of these fines in the next 12 months.

I'll make sure my LPFM has one that always stays in operation, should things work out.

Don't want to be like those lawbreakers who don't have and see a need for one.

For those who practice this thing, I hope they will soon be caught and fined.

It's about time the lawbreakers were punished for their actions.

Have too many of them anyway, especially in my neck of the woods.

Yes. I have my Gorman CAP on order. And my RCA HD mini LCD TV on order to monitor Bama public televison. That is the only time I will watch PBS ;D

They are Classic Country, with some Gospel programming mixed in. I haven't been through since August 2011, so the programming may have changed since then.

It don't matter whether you enjoy the station or not.....it needs to be legal.....if you can't be legal, turn in your license because obviously you are not fit to be a licensee.

Just my opinion.

Travis,

It's still classic country, with a gospel program from 10am to noon. We travel though the Madison area occasionally.
