Went all holiday music ;D on Friday at 5pm (17th)!! Sounded great, wish there was still oldies 93 playing holiday music like the past years on the airwaves! All I have to say, Happy Holidays!

Took them a lot longer to switch than WRSN, who has been playing it since early November. Then again, with all the rumors here about WRSN flipping after Christmas, I am not surprised.

Is it really going to be all Christmas music until the end of the year at WMAG, or are they still flipping back and fourth? They have had a few all Christmas days this year, after which they went back to their normal AC format. Their web site has said all Christmas for a while now, even though they were going back and fourth. I can't pick them up here in Raleigh and haven't bothered streaming it.

Yeah they are doing it for good! Listen to them waking up monday morning, christmas was playing alright!

Am I the only person that gets tired of this real quick? Christmas music is so repetitive.

??? Try listening to MUZAK in a hotel..The highlight of their 40 Christmas songs is Christmas in Killarney, 15 times a day!

I suppose this is obvious but the Christmas music has to be just for the advertisers with little or no thought given to listeners. They want to set the mood for the general population (mostly female) to go shopping as soon and as much as possible. These stations are clearly focused on that aspect as they play the same 50 Christmas songs over and over. They don't even attempt to play 20 percent of the various Chrismas (Holiday) music that is avalable. How many times can one listen to White Chrismas or Santy is Coming to Town.... At least try some additional Christmas music.

Oh, but the ratings! I have actually spoken with families who say they listen to it in the evenings instead of turning on their TV's. They are so grateful to WMAG for doing it. But, it inflates the ratings and the stupid ad agencies buy the inflated ratings for their Spring campaigns. Duh! :-\

I noticed something interesting about the Christmas music playing on WMAG and Sunny; last year when they both started at roughly the same time, it was like they were simulcasting each other--- both playing the same song at roughly the same time--- but this year, since Sunny has been at it since shortly after Halloween, and WMAG just started over the weekend, there is no "simulcast." Hopefully, if Sunny does indeed flip after Christmas, another local station picks up the Christmas playlist; like most of the other Triad stations whose signals reach this area, sometimes it kicks in clearly enough for the RDS data to flash on the display, and other times I get more static than music.

I love hearing the Christmas hymns on MAG. Reminds me of when I used to work 3rd at the Ilico Mart on Main in HP and we'd listen to the Christmas Hymns piped in all night long... Great memories. Ape, do I understand you to say that you work at a motel?

Re: WMAG Holidays

It's official--- Sunny 93.9 in Raleigh is slated to die Dec. 26, when the new format (whatever that will be) and the Whoopi show both debut. There isn't anything in the wind about WMAG, is there? If another Raleigh station doesn't pick up the all-Christmas format next year, WMAG may be my only option for Christmas music (especially since "Oldies 93 is dead") after Sunny's death...

;D Sounds Crazy playing all Christmas Music Anytime.. That's a 4 Star Album if it's Lawerence Welk.. Omar Ya Listening???

I still have some of those records. Just played the New Christy Minstrials Christmas Tunes >>>with 4 Stars dated October 1966 OGH
