WMAQ-AM closed its doors on 7/31/00 & suddenly I've come across several old WMAQ names in the news.

I miss WMAQ's all news format. IMO they were better than WBBM.

Agreed. I always prefered WMAQ. I did listen to both back then, but I could listen to MAQ for much longer.

Agreed. I always prefered WMAQ. I did listen to both back then, but I could listen to MAQ for much longer.

I switched to MAQ during the gulf war in 91 and always preferred their news coverage.
