WMAX-FM calls moving to Grand Rapids on 11/16

A very reliable source gave me this tip for my VarietyHits.com site today:

"Effective Nov 16th, WVTI (96.1 Max FM) becomes WMAX-FM per the FCC. Not sure about what happens to Chattanooga."

This has been rumored to be happening for some time. Call letters really mean little in the grand scheme of things, but they can sometimes be a signal that something is about to happen. In the case of the Chattanooga Max FM... it's not clear. It seems entirely possible that a return to the WMXF-FM calls could happen (the station had those calls before obtaining the WMAX-FM calls from Clear Channel Atlanta), but I don't know what the plan is. If someone knows of a page that shows pending FCC call letter changes, that might help on this. Thanks.

According to the FCC, 97.3's new calls are WNGA. Not sure what that means for Max Chattanooga.

Maybe it means "nooga" as in Chattanooga or North GA.
