WMAY needs to make up their d*** mind!

Have you noticed how WMAY-AM operates? If it's not the general manager causing the problems, it's Midwest Family Broadcasting. In a handful of months, they "fire" Kirk Farah, who eventually (I guess) went to WFMB-AM to do sports. He gets replaced by WQLZ broadcast legend Ray Lytle.

Not very fitting being raised on listening to his show on QLZ, which has made a name of itself in Springfield/Decatur with hard-hitting rock music. WMAY......well, that's dead as a doorknob there.

Add Keith Kramer to the mix. I know he was a hit in other regions of the country, including when he was in St. Louis, but lately, he's been going off the deep end at times. He almost got himself fired a few months ago for what originally sounded like he was recording a phone call with Springfield City Water Light & Power, only to discover that he voiced the entire call.

If the station really wanted to get more listeners, air Lytle before Kramer and not before the monotone borefest known as The Dave Ramsey Show.

Even Jim Leach is losing listeners.......Kevan Kavanaugh, do whatever to keep your listeners or the station will become a thing of the past!

Just to correct you on a few things. Kramer has never been a hit on a Talk station. Hes only been doing Talk radio in St Louis and Springfield. In St Louis his numbers went down and his phones were dead, not exactly a hit. In Springfield who knows what his numbers are? His phones are slow and if it weren't for a couple of senile regular callers they would be dead too.

He really needs to go back to doing the semi shock DJ stuff that worked for him back 10 years ago but I'm not sure if there is much of a market for that anymore.

Neither of those posts are accurate in any way.

The bit reffered to with CWLP was obviously a "bit" - aka a WORK. It was a parody of the debacle at the power company in Springfield where the workers were found to have crashed computers due to viewing so much porn. Kramer was never "almost fired" for an obvious bit. I don't understand what your motive there was.

STLSUE, Kramer has been doing talk radio since 2000 when he moved to Detroit to work for an FM TALKER - then WKRK. Since then he's done nothing but talk shows. Also, I don't know about his phones, but his numbers went UP. Way up. In fact, upon him leaving, he had a 4.8 25-54 ------- which was up from the 1.3 before he got there. That was done in an 8 month period. The staff at KTRS was not hired for long term employment, they were hired to be a shock to the system to help clean the slate before what they deemed PHASE II, which was to hire market veterans in St. Louis with name recognition...to start all over. (See current lineup.)

Well, I stand corrected but if you had listened to his show when he came to St Louis you would understand my mistake. It certianly sounded like it was the first time he had done a talk show. Who would have thought he had five years experience? Ever heard him do an interview? (not that he was ever able to get many guests on his show) It's almost painful listening to him fumble through an on air interview.

Your other point about staff changes may sound like a good excuse but the reality is that KTRS didn't need to Shock the system to make way for market veterans, they had market veterans. KTRS thought there was still a market for watered down shock radio but the dismal ratings proved them wrong.

The bottom line is that you can't tell Kramer that what he is doing isn't working. He keeps a handful of yes men on his message board and thinks that they represent a large enough demographic to be marketable and make him a success. The reality is Springfield is perfect for him if he can get by on the low wages or accept it as a part time job and do something else. I don't think you are ever going to see him in a major market again.

So he hasn't been in your market for how long yet you are seeking him out on a radio forum? I went back and looked at your posts and they are all about you. Wait, you're Kramer. Now I get it. Why self promote here though?

Well I certianly am not who you claim I am(but then you knew that) and I'm probably not who you think I am but at least I've had the same member name here for a long time. How many different member names have you had here? And since you accuse me of being Keith(which I find really offensive) why is it you've been a member for a couple days and only commented here and the KEGL Dallas thread? And how did this thread get cut n pasted on the Kramer message board so quick? It must really BUG you to think you are right when you are wrong.
