I heard their newscast(via another thread on here) is really bad. Can anyone record it and send me a copy?

WMBC is out of Newton, NJ (Sussex County), but transmits closer to the Passaic County border. Eatontown's down my way in Monmouth County.

Woops, I just lifted what I knew from another post, my bad. Sorry

Still looking for a "videocheck" tho...

I have never watched an entire newscast so I can't say much for content, but their set and graphics look like they are from the 1970's and their news anchors are borderline amateur. I would consider the whole newscast a step below that of WLNY-55. Directv dropped WMBC back in January but I can still pick them up via OTA.

I think I originally made the mistake with the city of license in another post, so, my bad. That being said, I'll agree...the whole thing looks like it's recorded in a 1970's newsroom salvaged from the junkyard (think of the Merv Griffin Show episode of Seinfeld), and recorded on a consumer-grade VHS camcorder. A lot of the "stories" are recorded off of satellite from CNN or some such network. It's the station's lame attempt to provide "public interest" programming for Northern NJ.

Ever seen the movie UHF with Weird Al Yankovic? The newscast is kind of like that.

Too bad the rest of WMBC's schedule isn't like U-62!

I got offered the director's job there some 10 years back. When I visited the station, that movie was exactly what i kept thinking of. I'd seen high school stations that looked that good. I actually thought about taking the job (I was on the beach at the time so why not) until they showed me the non-compete contract which was for some obscenely large distance and for some ridiculous period of time. I told them it wasn't worth it. It wasn't.
