Folks, Bloomberg TV got on WMBC-TV 63 since August 1998 until it got replaced by informercial since September 2002 by Weekdays, so here's the choice:

Informercials has aired 9 hours over and over for 6 years and we need to get rid of paid programming just fewer by weekdays and here's the schedule:

8-10am Paid Progamming
11am-2pm: Religious Programming
2-3pm: Paid Programming
3:00pm: Animal Action
3:30pm: The Dooley and Pals Show
4:00pm: Sonshiny Day
4:30pm: My Bedbugs

WMBC is the RNN-TV of New Jersey.

btw 3-5 PM programs = FCC-mandated E/I programs

WMBC-TV 63 News.
5PM to 8AM straight? I find that hard to believe.

No, just 5-6 PM, a magnificently amateurish hour of local packages from entry-level reporters scattered across north Jersey and NYC, mixed with every single package CNN's sent down the affiliate feed that day.

After 6, WMBC starts making money - it's all leased-time Asian-language programming, including some local news for NYC and north Jersey in (IIRC) Mandarin and Korean.

Kind of like the KSCI of NYC, without KSCI's professionalism.

Directv dropped WMBC from the local channel lineup about 2 years ago by somehow circumventing the "must carry" status of the station. I believe they are the only TV provider in the NYC region that does not carry WMBC.

If memory serves, WMBC missed a deadline to notify DirecTV of its must-carry election. I believe the same thing happened with WFME-TV and one or both of the satellite services.

(Incidentally, when I was down in Rockland County a couple of weeks ago, I had a QAM tuner with me and discovered that while Cablevision's Ramapo system doesn't put WFME on its analog tier, it does appear as a clear QAM channel, something like 100-11.)

Oh, and Eli? Doing just fine...in fact, I have to put the laptop down now and get him a bottle!

Directv carries WFME on channel 66. It was added around the same time WMBC was dropped.
