WMBI AM (now WXES) 1110 off the air

Interesting story. 107.1 will likely be a moot point for me. WNVR has a translator on 107.1 about four miles from my house. If they're off, WSPY comes in. I used to operate my whole house transmitter on 107.1, but that ended when WNVR's translator came on. Now I'm using 92.1. It;s like the mini WLIT, because when I start playing Christmas music on my Spotify and ITunes playlists, the neighbors tune in.

The signal on both 106.3 and 107.1 appear to be about the same strength. I am not sure if the signal on 106.3 is from the WXES site in Addison, Illinois. FCC shows a license for W295CG Lake Bluff, IL on 107.1 FM and CP for the same translator (W295CG Lake Bluff, IL) on 106.9 FM. I am wondering if they are testing the 106.9 CP on 106.3 FM instead. Both 106.9 and 107.1 show the transmitter location as the tower near Dundee Rd and Arlington Heights Road intersection, which is the same location as the WPPN transmitter.

BTW, you have it backwards.. the license is for 106.9 with the CP for 107.1
