Looks like WMCT will be getting a new transmitter and all new studio and production equipment soon. Word is it's building new studios in town and putting all new equipment in it.

WMCT gets new stuff

After I read this post I went to their web site and was listening to the stream and they came on after TRN and announced they were signing off for the day for transmitter repairs. Are thy gearing up for the new equipment or is this unrelated. It's nice to know that some small town stations are doing well enough to upgrade their facilities.
It was work on the ground system, new tuning unit and coax from what I was told. Also new transmitter going in.
New transmitter going in next week if all goes according to plan with new studios up and running with in a month.
WMCT should have the new studios up and running within the next 2 weeks. Also, the new transmitter is installed and I hear except for matching everything up it's ready to run. Saw the install myself last weekend and it looks nice.
The new transmitter is up and running and sounds pretty good. If all goes well the new studios will be on line as soon as the network feeds get moved and some other such stuff. The internet stream will be in stereo. There will also be a real nice recording studio in the back.

With the former owner now deceased, sounds like to me her daughter is getting it ready to put it up for sale.

If anybody knows what they did with their old gear, have them contact me at WMRO-AM, Gallatin. They had an Autogram Console that I would love to have.
I'm now PD and I'll ask the boss about the board. I doubt we'll get tired of playing any time soon.
Every time I see these call letters, I have to stop and remember who's got them now.
They used to be the first call letters of the first TV station in Tennessee, WMCT-TV, Channel 4, Memphis. It's now WMC-TV, on Channel 5.
