WMEE is a Medium Market Station of the Year finalist.

Has the NAB finally run out of credible nominees? Maybe it's time for the Marconi Awards to go the way of the NAB Radio Code and the Television Code's Seal of Good Practice.
 
WMEE is one of best programmed Hot ACs in the state of Indiana. The air staff is live and local 7 days a week. Also, the station is on top with new music they even add some AAA cuts from time to time.

The others WAJI and WJFX both sound tired and boring. Just my 2 cents
 
I agree, WMEE sounds good. It's a major market sound in a mid-major market. Great job!
 
When I posted this and asked "how the heck did that happen?" I think I meant it more as a "wow" than a "HUH?"
If you all get my meaning.

It IS a big deal for them, and let's see what happens when the award is given eh??
 
tsherck and butlerguy03 - thanks for telling us you work at WMEE. As for mixing in AAA cuts, you can count Serena Ryder and thats about it. The station is NOT live and local 7 days a week, are you kidding me? What you are saying is their PD comes in at 8AM and stays til Midnight? Boomer is part-time. Lets get facts straight here tsherck.

Does WMEE sound good? Yes, I will give them that. Is it great? Far from it!
 
I was gonna say... since when is WMEE live 7 days a week? Since when is ANY station live, even at some point, 7 days a week?

And Boomer needs to be no time. He is the worst puker I've heard in years. I like the Back In The Day Cafe, but having Boomer puking at me makes it almost impossible to listen to.
 
Well, Ok so The DJ's aren't live but, WMEE does have a more local presence on air, Voice tracked or not. They have no annoying talk shows like Billy Bush or Carson Daily. They also don't have any cookie cutter DJs from Dial Global or Westwood One Etc. If their listeners are ok with it then they must be doing something right for them to get an award.

I think the record shows I do not work in Fort Wayne. I like to give credit where it is due, not constantly dig on other stations.
 
Okay Butlerguy you don't work there, sorry for thinking you did. However, nothing special about WMEE in all reality, someone at Federated knows the right people its really plain and simple. Wish it weren't the case. As for stations with syndication, WJFX is the only one you mentioned that has syndication. Does WAJI?
