Mark Evans is gone and Steve Starbrelz was on the air this morning. Maybe the station will sound better now.

Mark was blown out yesterday and Rob Kelley is now programming the station.

They are now in search of morning personalities.

Highly doubtful. Although Starbrelz has been (and still is) a production wiz in the market for 20+ years at FedMed, IMO he doesn't have the chops to pull off a stellar AC morning show in the market. I can see him temporarily filling in, but as for the long haul...highly doubtful. Brelz is a wise man, he'll take one for the team for now.

I hate to hear Mark's out of work. Certainly, that's the nature of the business, but here's hoping he finds a new gig. I applied for a job at WMEE awhile back, and, though I didn't get the job, I was surprised to be training on a new job one morning and getting a call on my cell phone from Federated Media-South Bend. One of the PD's said Mark had given him my CD/resume and wanted to know if I were available. Too bad I couldn't have been in two places at once. I'll always be grateful to Mark for doing that, even though we never became co-workers.

Mark is one hell of a guy and it's unfortunate to see such a nice guy out. But, that's the FedMed way of doing things. They seem to have a knack of running talent out of their buildings (at least in FWA they do!). WMEE is barely a shadow of it's former self, and will NEVAH regain those heyday years.

Mark wasn't the only one to be given his walking papers on Thursday from FedMed...the North complex canned 92.3 The Fort's PD Shannon Norris and moved Billy Elvis into the position immediately (from what I am told). Notice she's gone from the station's website. Shannon is another damn nice woman who I'd like to see stay in the market. WTF? I guess if you're smoking the head devil's johnson you're good as gold in the fold eh?

It's a damn shame, just a g-damn shame!

I meant the station sounding musically better overall. Mark and Steve both sound fine on the air. I see how everyone read my comments wrong.

Sorry.

Definately remember Mark Evans' many years on WAJI's morning show going out and about. Never met him when I worked one floor up, but seems like a nice guy.
