WMEL

Bwahaha! You got me! Clever! :D I reaffirm that I didn't post anything here that wasn't already on WMMB's site. As I said above, I'm not about to cough up something that wasn't public info that might cost me my job.

But as the old saying goes: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Hypothetically, you wouldn't want anyone finding out if, say, you were a failed local sales manager or, theoretically, a failed producer now working at a station that's about to go bye-bye.

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

::) Man I would....I'll tell every frigging thing I know..Good or Bad.. Send me to Washington in the Senate and I'll steal everything I can carry..and Interns..Look Out...BIG APE!

eau contraire my matthew fair...a few misconceptions to help you straighten out...

on a station that's about to go bye bye....true, and unfortunately i can't do anything to stop that, but i tried..

failed producer...NEVER...loyal, timely, professional, run a tight board, likeable show host and news anchor, love what i do, great at it...YES..and there are many people who know more than YOU that have told me so...thank you

ballsy broad who stuck up for herself against a stuttering moronic diva host, who hid food for himself, who was fired for lousy ratings...and a sales person who used the knives in the backs of his victims to climb the corporate ladder...YES

would i do it again.....in a heart beat...

any contempt for you.....with a face like that? never.... :-*

keep up the stellar work....i like the competition

and that's not hypothetical...of course.

love ya MEAN IT....

WOW! look at all this bickering! reminds me of my days at Clear Channel...a company of super outspoken people, working under people with whom they cant be outspoken with, meaning they spend their days dis-respecting and out-doing each other, thus creating a real "team" atmosphere amongst co-workers...

fun, huh!

im glad i got away!...

Actually part of Matt’s jab was directed at me, failed Hahahah, not only did the failed market manager try get hire me back and admitted he made a mistake. He had to cough up bucks for me to bring back the largest customer that was lost after I left. I am laughing all the way to the bank. And only a week or two ago did someone at CC Corporate try to lure me back again...hahah. So lets see I am in a better paying higher level position with better stations and with on air staff that are a pleasure to work with. You know, I like you Matt always did…but you could be so much more with a different attitude.

Oh and TAWKA if you are who I think, your bad attitude cost you your job....you couldn't let it go, you know it.

Meanwhile Matt is laughing at what he started.

you are absolutley right bill...i' really don't like when people try to walk all over me, and i tend to get defensive. i need to work on that. and on keeping my mouth shut, especially in this business.

congratulations on your recent success and hope for more in your future...

That's the Clear Channel spirit!

Very nice message L, I did enjoy working with you. Someday I hope our paths will cross and I can explain what really happened.

So, whats up with the planned MEL move to 1300 ? Noticed this morning that 1300 has dropped the Spanish and is programming "Urban". Did the MEL move fall through? Would think MEL would be promoting the move on 920 so listeners know to tune up to 1300 when they switch but I've not heard anything.

The simulcast currently starts at Noon everyday and from what John Harper told me yesterday, it could be 24/7 starting next Monday.

Did this move fall through? Tuned in to 1300 again today a few times while driving and heard urban in AM and Duke and Dr. later in the day, but it wasn't simulcast of 920 ???

The last I heard, the big switch-over was supposed to happen sometime in March. It's still February right now.

I checked the FCC website, and the records for WTIR don't show any ownership change, though there is a letter dated Feb. 8th regarding repairs to the transmission lines and towers. The FCC website is often slow to update, so it's possible ownership has changed hands sometime after 2/8 and the website just isn't showing it yet.

http://www.920wmel.com is still "under construction" but still lists both 920 and 1300. And on 920 a lot of their newscasts are still ID'ing as "AM 920 and AM 1300 WMEL." So I think the deal is still on.

Interestingly enough... the FCC website still shows AM-920's owner as "David Ryder, Receiver." He's not connected with Divine Mercy, the church that is supposedly buying AM-920. So did the Divine Mercy deal fall through? Or is that also the FCC website just being slow to update again?

the deal went through...license turned over to Divine Mercy .

Voluntary Assignment of License
From: DAVID RYDER, RECEIVER
To: DIVINE MERCY COMMUNICATIONS, INC.
Form 314

what a shame

looks like the end of March for turn over, but anything can happen....

WTIR...same owner....it's a LMA....

and as far as moving to 1300....who knows?

David Ryder to Divine Mercy... okay, I found it. Kinda have to dig into the guts of the FCC website, but it's in there.

And yeah, 1300, still no ownership change, even when I dig down. Weird. And yet they're still promo-ing it and still working on the website, and I don't think they'd bother unless something had been worked out.

Maybe Divine Mercy isn't ready to go with the new format yet? The station's been owned by David Ryder for some time, and Divine Mercy took over ownership in early February, yet it's still the same ol' Talk To Me Station. Maybe they're finding out that it's not like you can just go to Wal-Mart and pluck a radio station off the shelf.
