WMEX

Anyone have problems picking up WMEX over the air on Friday Afternoon at around 2:50pm? Website isn't working properly either

Just checked, 1510 AM sounds fine at 7:15pm and so does the stream on the app, and the website is up, they must’ve had a temporary outage of some sort. The official Facebook page appears to be down.
But, I don’t listen regularly anymore since the local DJ’s were let go.

I'll just leave this here...

Quite bizarre that the on air section shows people at the total opposite of the spectrum than their future target audience... Apparently carried over from Tyler Nye's 89.3 WSTY in GA.

I don't know what to make of this...a Contemporary Christian music station with a focus on the LGBTQ community ??? A niche format at it's most extreme, for sure! This must be a subversive attempt to preach Christianity to a minority group that they are convinced are going to hell.

Since streaming hasn't started yet, I'll refrain from further comment.

Is this for real?!

So is this Tyler Nye, now leasing WMEX?
website says © Copyright 2026 Local Media Boston. that doesn't sound like a lease, it sounds like a format change

Tyler Nye was the one half of "local media boston" that bought WMEX, the other half being tony LaGreca.

They withdrew the sale and just days later L & J MEdia filed a name change to Local Media Boston

If Radio Q is really what theyre planning, its an even worse idea than 60s and 70s oldies.

As a member of the LGBTQ "Family" myself, im sure, if this comes off the groundf, itll be typical stereotypical stuff they think lgbt folks would listen to... andf.. on a somewhat ok am with a marginal translator? pffftttt

This WSTY Milledgeville, GA has no internet presence, not even a Wikipedia page. Just a page on fccdata.org, and radio locator, which has them branded as Star 89.3 with a Contemporary Christian format, and owned by Seacoast Radio Network.

Is WSTY carrying this future Radio Q format, currently?

Good luck finding anyone from the Milledgeville area on the Boston forum.

My guess was maybe WSTY was running the Christian shows that come up in the on air section of this website. The mobile version has a link to the “My Star FM” app at the top.

I found this post from June 5th on a Provincetown Facebook group talking about it being “now in the works”

I wonder how long this has been in the works. This may be why they became all automated with the TOC. It's simply a placeholder until this gets launched.

Well, when WMEX goes Radio Q - Scott Shannon's TRUE OLDIES CHANNEL does stream! :) It's the same feed the stations are getting.

I'll be listening it on the national feed TRUE OLDIES CHANNEL USA! - You know they have real advertisers on the national feed?

I'm mad about WMEX's new pending format change - not the format...it might actually actually help the station. Give us some warning, just don't pull your facebook page...

Well, at least there's also WLYN....for now...
