I was fooling around with the DTV-to-analog box I got months ago when coupons were available and which I use on my table-model TV in the kitchen. When I first installed it, there was no signal from Boston's most useless channel, WMFP-DT, channel 18 (analog 62). But now, the signal is much better; of course, by that I mean, I can watch it all! If they're transmitting with a full megawatt of power (with a directional antenna), WMFP may be the Boston area's most powerful DTV station right now! Still, WBZ-DT is the strongest signal I receive and is the most reliable. Some days, if I attempt to watch "Jeopardy" on WSBK-DT, channel 39, so I can munch on a sandwich and sip a beer or two or three, it's just fine. Other days, same atmospheric conditions, zilch. The "all or nothing at all" characteristic of digital broadcasting is probably the one thing (aside from 'NO SIGNAL' ) that will drive the public batty.
