WMFP HD now available on Comcast!

It's on also in the Western Mass Comcast systems. We never received WMFP before. Now if they only add ME-TV (wcvb) to the system. It makes no sense since they show WCVB on the cable system where I am , but not the subchannels.

Where in western Mass are you...and why would they show WMFP??? On a related note, DirecTV in the Boston area now shows the WMFP HD feed as well.

I am in the Springfield/Holyoke DMA in Hampshire CO. We get WCVB (5) WHDH(7) WBZ (4) WLVI (56) WSBK (38) from Boston , WFSB(3) WCCT (20) WVIT(30) WTIC (61) from Conneticut. As well as our DMA Locals WWLP(22) WGGB (40) WGBY (57) WSHM (67). After a channel scan , WMFP (HD) came in . Our locals are the only ones that come in HD . The Boston and Conneticut locals only come in SD. I just wish they would add the sub-channels of the Boston and Conn channels. Although for some reason we get THIS TV from WCCT (20.2) .

Strange...WGBY-TV is the only out-of-market station Comcast carries in New Britain and Hartford (no WWLP-TV or WGGB-TV). I think there's some rule about cable companies needing to carry a second PBS station for some reason. Do you get WEDH-TV (PBS) channel 24 from Hartford?

Do the programs from greater Boston and greater Hartford ever get blacked out?

I still can't figure out why you would get WMFP-TV 62-1 or WCCT-TV 20-2 there. Strange!

I'm now guessing that WMFP has qualified for must-carry, especially since DirecTV is carrying it. I don't even think they carry the HD version of WGBH, but maybe they do now.
