WMFP-TV 62

Our company (MultiCultural Radio) has recently made major program changes on
our WMFP-TV. The station is a full power TV sation, that had been airing
home shopping and infomercials, on analog channel 62. The WMFP digital transmitter
is now on the air. WMFP is carried by most cable systems in eastern MA/southern NH.
The station is now airing entertainment programming, from the Retro Television Network.
The last I checked, the Comcast on-screen cable guide was not showing the program
changes yet. This should be resolved soon. If you had previously locked out,
or surfed past that channel, you may want to revisit it, and check to see if some
of your old favorite shows are now airing there...

Greetings WLYNgm! Allow me to offer my personal congratulations and thanks for bringing RTN to Boston on WMFP-DT. I am sure that it will be noticed, if it isn't already! I was long hoping that 'MFP would make the move to a mainstream format like RTN. It's been so long since Boston has had a truly entertaining station that anyone could really enjoy, without the "reality shows" or garbage some of the other stations in town tend to play. You've got me adding WMFP to my DTV converter and on my cable box as well. And with 'MFP's full-powered signal (a cool million watts ERP), it really covers the market nicely. Please tell your folks at Multicultural that you've got a fan in me. Thanks again!

Amen to that!! Congrats to WLYNgm and everyone else at WMFP for this fine move. So often we (legitimately) rap programmers for lousy programming moves - well, likewise we need to congratulate those who do things right! Great job guys. :)

I encourage anyone who enjoys classic TV to tune in to WMFP and enjoy!!!!

I can receive WMFP-DT here in Pawtucket, RI pretty well. Even though the local RTN affiliate is WJAR-DT 10.2, it is great to have another alternative because it is not showing the same RTN shows at the same time.

I've sampled it a couple of times, and I've noticed that there are NO logos, images, bugs, or whatever they're called whatsoever..just a full screen of the programming material being aired at the time. It's just like the old days B.C. before clutter.

That's great news Jeff. Now if only they'd do the same with their sister station WSAH-DT down in Bridgeport. While I wouldn't be able to watch (as WSAH-DT is not on COMCRAP here in Bristol) my parents would be able to if WSAH-DT made the switch to RTN as WSAH-DT is on COX in Southington (where they live). (Digital Channels 73 & 75 I might add to boot).

I would love to see WSAH carry RTN. Even though the station is based in CT, I live right outside Newark, NJ and we get WSAH on our local Verizon Fios lineup.

WSAH becomes an affiliate of RTV on July 1. (http://www.tvnewsday.com/articles/2009/06/04/daily.3/).

Congratulations, Jeff! I've actually watched a few of these lost nuggets on weekends such as Laredo, Wagon Train (a former #1 hit), Run For Your Life, and Darren McGavin's take on Mike Hammer! Hopefully this channel will eventually attract mainstream advertisers like McD's rather than diabetes ads, but otherwise thanks again! :D

Has anyone noticed WMFP looks better lately? At least on my Directv service it does. Have they addressed the bandwidth issues? Still not great, but less pixilation and dropouts.

I take back what I said earlier: WMFP now displays a solid, color logo to the lower right-hand part of the picture that is MORE obtrusive than the typical logo or bug that is usually light-colored and transparent. Ugh.
