Tonight while listening to WMFQ 92.9 I heard one of the DJ's say. "We're Sunny, but without the stupid liners and jungles. " Is this a jab at WOCL. If so 92.9 has a point. Not to mention 92.9 sounds more live. WOCL is automated most of the time. (Besides maybe a few people from WOMX.) For the past few days I've also heard the term "The music makes me happy" appear between songs.
Maybe despite 105.9 being an Orlando Station Asterisk sees "Sunny FM" as a competing station. i have also noticed WMFQ would air events. Like let's say last weekend with "Double Songs". Two songs by the same artist in a row.
Whenever I listened to Sunny the station had a bad "Burnout" effect. How many times did I have to hear "Dreamweaver" or "Sooner or later love is gonna get you". I would think with the term "Sunny" the stations emphasize would be 60 and 70's songs that put you in a good mood. The Pop music from that era. "Beach Boys" and music such as that. A homogenous mix of 60's, 70's and 80's won't be bad. With special programs during the weekends. I'm pretty sure you all know that by now though.
