I heard that morning host Tim was fired. What a shame! Maybe he'll end up @ crossroads since most of their staff is former mixx-fm air staff.

That's too bad. I liked Tim the few times I heard him. I wonder if theyll hire out or promote within? Terre Haute tends to recycle air staff.

I bet Kyle West will be filling in mornings for awhile,, he does a good job on nights,, he may have to pull a swing for awhile,, For some reason I cant get WMGI here in Martinsville anymore, it mixes with the Translator for WFHB in Brown County. I dont see how or why the FCC approved a translator right on the edge of MIX FMs fringe listening area.

Is it me, or is Midwest the only company in the market with such a high turnover rate? Seems like they are always hiring for WMGI.

If they are keeping the current female co-host, I feel bad for whoever gets that gig, because she just isn't very good, in my opinion. At times she can be very hard to understand, and seems like she isn't even prepared to be on air. If you ever have heard her on by herself it is even worse. I'm sure she is a nice gal and all, and I may be way off base since I'm not in their "target demo", but I just can't stand to listen in the AM, and haven't for quite some time. Maybe whoever they hire will be talented enough to help her improve, which is what a market like TH is all about.

I guess it is just status quo for morning Terre Haute radio.... Can anyone name a decent LOCAL morning show other than Hi-99 in the last decade? Maybe Steve Smith and Angie Banes? That's the only one that comes to my head. The only one I can stand now besides Hi 99 is 95.9 The Valley, but honestly it is more because that is my type of music than anything else.

Also, can anyone at Mix even run a tight board anymore? Or is that not "cool" in Top 40 anymore? They used to be one of the best sounding CHR's in the Midwest, and now it doesn't necessarily sound bad, it just seems like they have a lot of holes right now.

I remember Steve and Colleen. Man seems like Steve was on there forever. WMGI does seem to have a lot of turnover. I can't really remember more than Steve. Its nice now to listen to Julie on 1027.

I do that was an exciting time. Radio changed alot since then except for WTHI.

I always enjoy the Midwest Clubber posts. Real McCoy, LaBouche, Outhere Brothers! Now that was a fun time in music. For those of you that are Steve Smith fans he just moved up markets in the Cumulus family and is in Huntsville, AL on a CHR now. He was at WHHY in Montgomery for the past several years!

Does anyone know what happened to the strong signal they used to have, I used to be able to hear them from Indianapolis to Effingham,, they have lost about 20 miles of coverage in each direction. New Antenna thats not as good as the old one,,, Heavily Clogged Dial now days,,, or poor antenna maintenance. I gave Mix FM a cell phone call one day from the east side of 465 and requested a song,, and Mike Echos was like WOW you mean your not listening to the crappy Indianapolis station,,,, LOL.. Wonder where Mike Echo's is....

In fact their TOH ID used to say WMGI Terre Haute Indianapolis,, Im guessing because they actually had ratings in Indy at that time.

I have family members in Tennesse who say they've heard Tim on a Hot AC there. I listened when I could, but The co-host kept talking about herself as if she was above all of us. My kids don't even like WMGI anymore, thank God for CD's

Agreed! I thought maybe it was just me noticing it! Why don't they fix that???

Wow your kids don't like it? I was growing less and less fond of it but i thought that's because I was getting old and it was skewing younger. If they don't like it either maybe change is good?

They were best playing hard rock as WVTS in the 70's. Think they were even in quad for awhile...now those were the days. I never liked anything they ever did after that.

I'm not sure it is quite that bad. Would she get a gig in Indy? No. But isn't Terre Haute a 200+ market? It's a market where "green" radio people should get a nice start and learn. The problem is, she has been around a while and not gotten much better. Hopefully, the new partner will help spark her development. A lot of the stuff I personally don't care for is pretty correctable. A few tweaks and she could be a lot better. I'm not sure about you, but I never like to see someone fail.
