WMGK has dropped WPEN 950AM from their HD-3 feed...

Seems that since WPEN 950 AM is now effectively on their own main FM signal at 97.5, Greater Media has deemed fit to drop the HD-3 feed from 102.9 WMGK-FM. There is apaprently still an HD-2 feed on 97.5, though, broadcasting something akin to what I like to term as "Classical Lite"...all automated, of course, with no DJs it seems....

Whelp, I count as a person - I noticed it a few nights ago that it went away while scanning the dial with my HD Radio.

I have the insignia HD and its great when you are in range of the stations. It gives the listner more choice when you are not close to your Music Choice, Satellite or Internet systems. Its just something extra to listen to, I hope they do boost the power and add more formats, I would hate to see it go away like AM stereo did....

Yo Big, When I say AM STEREO, what do you think of?

C-QUAM of course, Sam!

Still have my Sony AM ST walkman & a AM ST chrysler radio with the 5 band EQ wired up.

I have one!

It's kinda cool living in a top 10 market and knowing you are most likely the only person listening to a full-power commercial FM station. :)

Is there anyone doing smooth jazz on HD? I don't think so which is pretty darn bad. Boy, this format really got the raw end of the deal in Philly. We can't even have an HD smooth jazz station. At least pretty much every other city where the format was dropped, it's on HD.

I don't think so. They're doing classical on 97.5-2, WUBA-AM is on 106.1-2. I think it was on 106.1-2 until jazz was on 97.5-1. Surprised that GM or CC isn't doing it on one.

The best part about HD radio is KYW in FM stereo without static!
