WMGK Mornings goes to Matt Cord & Steve Vassalotti

Was really hoping for Leigh Richards (if she is interested.). She did a great job years ago on mornings on WXTU.

Which now opens up who takes middays šŸ˜‰
How about give it to Brent Porche and give Jaxon his show back on WMMR? It would be nice if someone who was laid off by Beasley could get a job back. Jaxon was really great in showcasing newer, local bands on his show. Brent could do the classic rock with no problems.

I predict a weekender to take the midday slot at MGK, or someone from another Beasley station in another market. IMO, Jaxon won't be in the mix.

Paul Kelly took middays today.
Is that permanent?
I've not heard him before. Is he a weekender?
Thanks,
John
Are you sure you’re talking about Paul Kelly and not Bob Kelly who does the traffic on television? Bob has been filling in from time to time. I remember when he worked for the Geator as ā€œBus Stop Bobā€ and he was very energetic and enthusiastic. On MGK he is much more laid back and monotone as is the new morning team. Honestly, with the exception of Danny Ocean, no one leaves me with the impression that they’re excited to be there. Andre sounds pretty good, regularly adding anecdotes about songs he’s played hundreds of times over the decades. That must get old. DeBella always came across as tho he enjoyed being on the air, but lately whenever most of them open the mic I feel like I’m listening to NPR.

It's Paul Kelly. He's listed as as weekender on the website Designated Hitters

No official word on if he's just filling the chair for now, or will take the shift permanently.
My mistake. I thought he called himself Bob Kelly and I’ve heard this guy more than once. But this only demonstrates my point that some of the people on the air at MGK are extremely soft spoken and are reminiscent of listening to NPR.
