WMGK now has HD-3 signal...

I was perusing the HD FM band the other day and I noticed WMGK 102.9FM now is simulcasting WPEN 950AM on their HD-3 channel. So, in addition to their Deep Tracks channel on HD-2, this seems like an interesting move. I think the HD-3 channel is in mono as I don't think it's possible to broadcast more than two channels in stereo without compromising sound quality. I wonder if CBS is going to simulcast WIP and/or WPHT on an FM HD signal...trouble is, though, where to put WIP except maybe as HD-3 channel for WYSP...since KYW is already on the HD-2 channel, that is...

I just hope CBS puts WPHT on WYSP HD3 it would be great for listening to the Phillies (hint). As far as WIP they could be on WOGL HD3 but WOGL's HD signals are really bad in Bucks County especially in Horsham, Montgomeryville and Chalfont areas but not too bad elsewhere.

With the IBOC signal screwing up the AM band at leaset they could take advantage of the technology. HD on AM is not enjoyable unless you lock in at home. Driving is so hit or miss. If it were up to me I would turn off the technology on AM.
