WMGK to WIP

The thread about WMGK morphed into one about WIP and I thought a new one specifically about WIP was appropriate. I had the chance to create a voiceover demo tape at WIP a long time ago, maybe 1979 or so, and got to meet some of the personalities and to sit in on a Tom Moran show. What a great guy and great talent! Loved Tom Lamaine and, maybe my favorite of all, Dick Clayton.

My question...There airchecks around for WFIL and WIBG but I've yet to come across any for WIP (talking the MOR days here). Does anyone have any or know where any can be found? I tried Reel Radio and Northeast Airchecks and nada! It would be a shame if none of this part of Philly radio history has been saved.

Thanks!

I have some of a complete broadcast day of WIP compressed, recorded off a wideband Fisher receiver. It included Wee Willie hosting a luncheon at Wanamakers Tea Room for Zinnman Furs. Also the WPEN AM/FM sign-on in '75 with Mayor Frank Rizzo. I believe I sent that audio to www.famous 56.com.
