WMGL Charleston

Now that this station has a new owner (The Last Bastion Station Trust, LLC) is there going to be any changes at 101.7?

Since STAR 99.7 dominates Urban AC radio in Chucktown, I could see Magic 101.7 flipping. Tom Joyner and Michael Baisden are probaly the only 2 keeping Magic 101.7 alive. If a flip were to come, STAR 99.7 would snatch Michael Baiseden's syndicated afternoon show in a heartbeat! Maybe the new owners should flip 101.7 to an Urban or Rhythmic giving Z-93 some much needed competition.

Actually vchimpanzee, I was wondering the same thing. I was just in Charleston last weekend and tuned into 100.9 to hear Adult Contemporary music! I heard no liners, advertisements or anything. Obviously, they have dropped neo-soul and picked up a satellite fed AC format.

Although you are able to pick up WPAL in your car while visiting, you may not have tried it say, in a hotel, office, or home. It has a terribly weak signal in Charleston and the likeliness of ever showing in the book are slim. I understand that at one time it did show up numbers-wise....did they move the stick?
