WMGS 92.9

Vanilla milkshake.. so safe, scripted and bland. Great promotion of morning show and nothing else. No personality or features that I can say make this a stand out station. Can anyone please tell me anything you you can say makes this station a "must listen".. what features will you 5 years from now say: "hey, remember when they used to....., that was great!" There nothing.

Although I don't listen to it much often, it is heard almost everywhere I go: dentist offices, post office, eye care specialists, some stores, etc.

Speaking of Magic, they are the part of the "Big Three" that consists of KRZ, Froggy, and themselves when it comes to ratings. Both KRZ and Magic are heritage stations, starting out in the 80s or so, while Froggy made its debut around '93.

Can't put my finger on it but it just does not sound as good to me as other AC stations. RCH in Hartford, CT, WHOM in Portland both sound much better to my ears. As I have said before when I am in the area I just don't listen to the local S/WB stations anymore. Too many better non traditional radio sources for music. Once while sitting in bumper to bumper I tried to get midday traffic information on the news/talk station - forget it!

There is a lot to be said for consistency. Frankie does a great job. Yeah, the rest of the schedule is nothing exceptional, but it's not supposed to be. It's just a solid station. You know what you're going to get when you push the button. People like that.

The local hardware and lumber store in St. Clair -- a quite ornate place despite the business description -- used to run them. I suspect it was off some cable service, the way reception often is gotten in that area. They have the biggest FM signal in these parts from those parts, but not that good.

Take your pick : They're a solid station with (as Emo suggests) no 'Best Of' programming planned in the near future ....... or a quite dependable lighthouse, professionally smooth ; what you get is what you hear.

No one is likely to blast them at a barbeque or an evening pool party to entice frolicking participation, but they're sufficient as a third pre-set.

The hardware emporium in St. Clair has been using Sirius/XM in the past year, though, albeit with a similar music channel.
