WMID/WCMC

According to the new hourly station ID on WMID...it says now heard on 1230 AM in Cape May County..I guess they plan to simulcast WMID over 1230 AM in Wildwood after the holidays...any thoughts...wise decision??? Speaking of oldies..does anyone know if WIBBAGE FM has made any progress in the ratings??

They've been using that same ID as cross promotion for several years. They do not simulcast, except for the Phillies. In fact, 1230 is running the same format as sister EZ 93.1, but with commercials. The second question's answer is no, but this Fall book may be their turn.

The WMID/WCMC simulcast ended years ago. They never cut a new legal ID.

Rob1010 is correct indeed. It is a new ID, and they are simulcasting WMID to WCMC.
I went to Cape May County to visit family, and on the way down it was Christmas
music, and on my way home it was WMID, with 1230 references and a new
WCMC Wildwood tacked on to the front of the WMID Legal ID. They must
have switched between 3 and 9.

WCMC/WMID two very poorly run operations. There is no need to simulcast these stations..too much overlap.
WCMC lost whatever value it had when Jim MacMillan retired. MID .....well as someone who remembers Musicradio 1340 with Gary Lane, Andy Volvo and Jackson T. it's pretty sad to hear now. Still better than "carrier off" though.

Well stated veteran pd....WMID in my opinion back in the late 50s and early 60s was as good or even better than WABC 77..and way better than WIBG....they had great jocks like Gary Lane,Jay Mark, and lets not forget Harvey Holiday...and thats just to name a few...loved that station to death....now its just a shell of its former self...what a shame that Gary wont hire any live personalities to bring this station back to life...I wanted to come back to radio on WMID....and bring back PERSONALITY PLUS FUN radio...but I guess its not meant to be...these kids today have no idea how great radio once was...guess that kind of tells you why just about all of these broadcasting companies are just about hanging on....I couldnt even get one sponsor to buy any type of time on WMID.....lets face it AM radio is all but dead...might as well play taps and shut them off to save electricity....and eventually thats what is going to happen to FM radio as well...we can see it already...with stations cutting staff just to meet the payroll....I think someone had mentioned this earlier...back in the 60 s we had WMID,WCMC,WOND,WFPG,and a late comer ,WBSS...which served so.Jersey...now we still have those..if anyone is still listening to any of them except WOND...and we now have an overloaded bandful of FM stations....are there too many stations serving this small area??? maybe thats part of the problem...and maybe poor management is the other part...as to why sales of rasdio time has plummeted...
