With the recent speculation of what the future holds for WMIA-FM 93.9, I thought this may be a good time to ask the question wasn't, at one time, the call letters WMIE associated with a Miami FM or possibly Miami AM station? If so, can anyone tell me which one(s)? For the past 25-years or more WMIE has been assigned to NCE-FM WMIE-FM 91.5 Cocoa.

The best way to find that would be to check the Broadcasting Yearbooks (link below). I'd check myself but the site is rebuilding right now and I have all the files in cue... but from memory, the AM changed to WQBA when Susquehanna bought it, IIRC in about 67. The FM part I don't remember.

As I was born in 1959, I cannot say for sure; but I do not believe that 99.1 ever used the calls WMIE-FM, although that was the set of calls for the CP....I believe it was always WEDR.
