Almost departed, decided not to leave, as you read, well... you know. :D

Now, where did that Chuck Matthews guy go?

;)

Scott Howitt, Billy Bass, Luther Heggs are still living in the Cleveland area but no longer in radio, and Bob Friend still lives in the Akron area, and is no longer doing any broadcasting as well.

What ever became of a DJ there named Mike Ivers? I used to hear him on suburban Boston Top 40 station,
WEIM back around 1969-1971....

Until about 18 months ago Ivers was doing middays on WMJI. He was cut to part-time, then I don't know what happened. WGAR's Chuck Collier now voicetracks WMJI - while being on WGAR live at the same time (brilliant radio..NOT!). So I don't know where Ivers is. I don't belive he's with CC Cleveland anymore.

Anyone have the info on Ivers?

That idiot? After leaving WMJI/WMMS, went to CC Raleigh-Durham for five years as APD/Creative for now defunct oldies WTRG and classic rock WRDU. WTRG was flipped November 2004 (as were most of Marc Chase's oldies stations in the SE around then). Now, programming a daytime talker somewhere in NW OH :0)

I'm beginning my 17th year in broadcasting. WMJI remains the top highlight for me. The people; programming, sales, traffic, on air, promotions, production, all had the same goal - great radio. I was there 1994-2000. Arguably WMJI's best years. Radio done right. I learned from Denny, G-Man, Scott H, Norm N Nite, Ravenna, Mitch, Doc and many more how to do it the right way. I try to infuse what I learned from all parties then into what I do now.

Last I heard, Mike Ivers left radio due to medical reasons...he had left WMJI, came back part time, then had to leave it for good, and have not heard from him since.

Anyone know whatever happened to Lannigan??

LOL!!!! Of course he's still at WMJI silly. Been there since 1981-82? Left for six months in 1985 for Tampa, then came back. Been there ever since.

Or are you talking about his show in general?

I don't know if we ever put it up, but Mike Ivers was apparently talking to WAKR/1590 not long after he left WMJI.

The station had posted a MD/midday opening shortly before that.

Of course, former WKDD/then-96.5 PD Chuck Collins took over as PD/middays when 1590 went off the bird for its standards format.

Haven't heard anything about Mike Ivers since that...I hope he's doing OK.

Chuck!!! You forgot me!!! :( LOL

Ivers did NOT leave for medical reasons...he was "downsized" from full-time to part-time...then let go.

Lanigan joined WMJI in 1984 or so. He was with WGAR-AM from '71 (replacing Imus) until 1983, when he went to Tampa Bay. Majic lured him back, replacing the husband-wife team of Dan Deely and Kim Scott. Deely moved to afternoons, and was eventually teamed with Jimmy Malone, who eventually moved to mornings with Lanigan and Webster.

John Webster's been retired since 2001, last gig was with WTAM. He was actually cut by attrition in the Feburary 2001 downsizing spree.

Last I checked, the Scottster's last gig (at least locally) was with WELW-AM around 2004.

Billy Bass now operates a successful photography studio in the Cleveland area.

And don't forget Norm N. Nite, too! He's now on SIRIUS' Solid Gold channel.

How's Sirius?? Where u living? Hoboken with Mitch? I had Mitch do some NTR promos for my cluster last August. Sounded great to have him on the air.

Hey.. I have a prod asst that is moving to NYC for culinary school. She may want to do some part-time prod, etc. Can I send her your way?

Honestly...it was best for Webster. He really couldn't contribute much after his brain surgery in.. what? 98? 99? Wasn't the same.

Norm's on Sirius? Very cool! That's incentive right there to get it.

WD!

I am good! Lovin the NYC...just moved from Times Sq. to Queens...enjoying Sirius (decent Cleveland showing here - Kid Leo, Mitch Todd, AJ Allen, JC Simon from Y'town and Norm N. aren't in the building but work here...oh, and me!).

Send her this way! Don't know if we'll have anything, but ya never know! We're always expanding (nice to be somewhere that's not contracting!)

What's the haps brutha? What happened? Ratings? Budget cuts? You know Doc is down in Dothan? OM for the Magic Braodcasting cluster there. I think he might have work. Not sure if it's too far a drive or not.

Man...do all of us old goons read this? LOL

Hi, Nate!

I've got another one for the MIA list: What happened to Mark "Munch" Bishop, who was part of the Lanigan & Malone team and also did the Browns pregame show on WMMS?
