WMMA-AM Irondale approved for new facilities for FM translator

This was approved a few days ago...an app to move WMMA's FM translator at 97.9 (W262AR) further west to broadcast from Red Mountain with 120 watts @ 823 ft.

https://fccdata.org/?appid=1768824&facid=150821

IIRC, WMMA's tranlator at 92.7 (W224CK) licensed to Vestavia Hillls is currently in operation.

Almost every AM in Birmingham now has either an FM or FM translator with which to simulcast. Once WATV signs on its new recently purchased translator at 94.9 FM, WURL in Moody will be the only remaining AM in the Birmingham market without an FM or FM translator companion.

I can't imagine the Catholics are going to need two translators that carry the same programming, I wonder if they will be able to spin off one of these?

The W224CK translator on 92.7 just had some sort of CP modification filed, too. Only in this case, it doesn't seem to make any sense. The FCC data implies there are zero changes involved, but RECnet shows a pattern change with the antenna. The application itself doesn't show a pattern change, and I doubt one could be approved because of the proximity to WTUG. So I dunno what the heck is going on with that application.
