WMNF: Bryan Childs & Nine Bullets Radio

That was embarrassing Thursday night. Bryan comes on, stumbling over his words, saying "I'm not Radio Guy. I don't wanna be Radio Guy, I'm just a fat guy from St. Pete." You could actually hear him sweating on-air. Just totally gross and unnecessary.

That was amateur hour all the way, like something you would hear out of WBUL. If this is what the "new" WMNF is, then I'm sending my donations to WUSF from now on.

fwiw FM 100 Means Music,

I do not disagree with your assessment. These first shows have been a massive learning experience and that night was not my best moment, to be sure. It is true, I get nervous at the beginnings of the shows but tend to relax as the hour moves on. Having noted this myself, I've decided to start loosely scripting that first speaking segment so folks can't "hear me sweating" as you so accurately put it. But, to be fair to myself, I think I get better every week.

What I was trying to get across (albeit, poorly) was that I'm not a radio guy. I, in fact, am an amateur. Outside of being interviewed on various radio stations because of ninebullets.net I'd never actually been on the radio until I got this show. I am a fat guy in St. Pete who runs a web site (ninebullets.net) and does a monthly podcast (http://ninebullets.podbean.com/). The move from podcast to live radio has been daunting to say the least and I'm just beginning to get used to the speed and rules.

Anyhow, I feel like I am getting better each week and hope that one night you'll give the show another chance. Furthermore, if you do and you have some specific criticism's and/or critiques please feel free to email them to me: [email protected]. I know there is plenty of room for improvement and welcome your thoughts.

Take care.

FM 100 has the right idea. 88.5 has recently made a point to dump some of their better talent/shows against the will of their listeners and donors... meanwhile, leaving people on who apparently don't even want to be there. It's ridiculous, and it is bad radio.
