WMRO 1560

I remember that Scott had stated (in his will) that the station license was to be canceled/surrendered (whatever) upon his death. Maybe he just advanced that somewhat.

At any rate, aren't there something like four AM stations in Gallatin? (or were, maybe)

Kent - where have you been. (this is for Firepoint, as well) - Yes, Scott did post on here for a while. I seem to last recall that he had had some health issues and then some power line issues with the tower, etc. My guess is he could not get the station back on the air properly per the FCC and you know the rest of the story. May be worth making a call to check on him. It is an interesting market, being just a stones throw from good ole Nastyville, Tennisshoe.... Firepoint, you able to pick up 1010 AM in your neck of the woods? It should be covering the area much better. FM signal (100.7) was just tweaked a few weeks ago. I know Buddy Sadler (posts on here bit) is still working at the old WQSI in Portland (not sure what the new calls are.)

Well - I just read the FCC letter that JJSPC posted above and that Scott had to give to the FCC. That is a tough one to read.

I haven't tried from here at home, but I have been able to pick them up just fine from where I work down in south Nashville over the past few months. (But I admit, I haven't tried lately.)

It seems (just looking at this from an outsider's point of view) that Scott did everything right. He streamed through the station website, and even had an FM translator there for a while. (Isn't that the one that WHIN picked up?) Even tweaked the format (going from hot AC to more mainstream AC.) But if he had health issues (or was having to run the station by himself), then the deck may have been stacked against him.
