WMTW fires morning co-anchor Shannon Moss

I have yet to figure out why Hearst, with all its corporate knowhow and its almost bottomless pockets, can't turn WMTW around. The newscasts (the last I knew; I no longer live in the signal area) are good, the staff is good (including Moss), but the station's news product has been Portland's perennial also-ran for decades --- and the station is almost as old as its two principal competitors.

Dare I say this? --- Is Portland actually two small to be a three-station (much less five) city? (Same question could be asked of Bangor.)
