WMUM

GPB is moving WDCO Cochran to the Mercer U. campus in Macon and will file for a call letter change to WMUM. MUM, doesn't that mean silent?

Yep!

I guess GPB, with the launch of WGPB Rome, is going to add more local (non-statewide) content to most of it's stations.

I believe this is the first time GPB, except for the brief change in 1984 to WGTV (WPBS), has changed a callsign.

Agreed. In this current state of radio, airing as much as live and local programming possible will become more important than ever. Like it or not, you can't just simply run a satellite feed 24/7, and expect listeners to tune in anytime. After all, like the catch phrase says, "content is king".
