WMUR doing news in HD now

Wow, never actually thought we'd see this day.

Which reminds me, nobody in Springfield has gone HD yet, right? Any plans out of any of those stations?

WMUR-TV (Channel 9) has come a long way since the old United days. It was THE last local station in New England to go local color back in '73 and now they are making the move to HD. Good for them! It's great looking station now. It's amazing how many great people I know who toiled at that station with "Signal Corp 1912" type equipment for so many years until finally in '81 they modernized the station with a new owner putting money into it. United was a cheap operator.

In answer to the Springfield question, I would think WWLP will probably be the first to go live HD News. They've always been a leader since the beginning. Channel 40, on the other hand, usually takes it time for upgrades. Who knows!

Wow now I really wish I could see this. Do you know if there will ever be a time when WMUR is automatically available in all of the Boston area? Does FiOS carry the HD feed? They didn't the last time we had them.

FiOS has WMUR's HD signal available.

FiOS has WMUR's HD signal available.

And so does DirecTV.

Basically wmur is a satellite version of wcvb they run the same shows in the same slots a few exceptions of course for instance they've both been heavily promoting ellen moving to 4pm it seems for months and did I mention they're both owned by the hearst corp. it was better when wmur was independant.
