WMUU

Are there any other stations in this country like WMUU? They have to be the most unique station around....a strange mix of classical, beautiful music, and gospel. They sound stuck in the 70s.

Amazing that there is a class C playing this stuff. That's such a flamethrower and it's pretty much wasted. I'm surprised they haven't gone non-comm....surprised they make any money, the only ads I've ever heard are Toyota, nursing homes, and maid services. Probably not the most desirable audience to advertisers. Sure would be nice to have 94.5 as a "regular" signal in the market instead of playing the stuff they're playing. We can get the classical on 90.1 and the gospel on 5 other FM's.

It is owned by Bob Jones University and until someone else buys it, it will always be this way. They have always had it commercial but they are extremely particular who they advertise with and it has seemed to work for them for over 40 years and am sure they figure if it is not broken then why fix it.

I've never really understood their business model...it seems like it's commercial, but somewhat propped up by the university and maybe some donations. Just one more odd thing about it.

Dare I say...CC should offer them 96.7 and cash in exchange for the 94.5 signal!

Why sell, they have a pretty loyal following that would more than likely revolt if they ever tried this, a great sounding signal that you carry a long way down I-385 and I-26 toward Columbia.

One of my Yahoo groups reports they're streaming again.

When they were before, it was all sacred (not "gospel"--that's not sophisticated enough).
