WMVB 1440 AM and Translator Selling For $12.6 Million

According to InsideRadio, the AM in Millville NJ and it’s translator on 96.1 FM is being sold to an individual that doesn’t own any other radio stations. The combo will apparently be used to carry his Spanish programming.
This seems to be a lot of money for a 1000 watt (68 watts nights) AM station at the upper end of the dial, and a translator.

?? That must be one heck of a translator.

Unless InsideRadio.com made an error (possible though unlikely...) $12.6 Million?? I just don't see how?? WABC sold for $12.5 Million in 2019...

The assignment agreement filed to the "new owner" does not indicate or disclose specific details so it stands to wonder where the selling price originated?

The sales agreement included in the filing DOES NOT include a price. As their reports (as are mine) are based on the filings, it is inconceivable how they came up with that number. But IT IS NOT FACTUALLY CORRECT.

Seeing as the deal is between two family members there is less reason for such a high price to be paid.

Oh if you only knew. Most of what they publish outside of their exclusive stories are basically rewriting my reports. Or with their sister publication Country Insider reprinting things from Country Aircheck.
I didn't mean to indirectly insult anyone... I would have just naturally figured in today's world that cross-checking and verifying would still have some degree of importance as far as integrity goes... I should have known better! Thanks for clarifying what clearly seemed to be ridiculous right from the start with that price tag.

The ultimate form of flattery is imitation, right?

12.6 mil for a flea powered AM that covers for corn fields than people is just insane. Obviously no way that number is correct. Maybe $126,000? That could be more reasonable lol

And this is a good moment to, again, and with emphasis, recommend subscriptions to Lane's publication. It is full of really good content, much better commentary and analysis, and the added dividend of Sean Ross' great columns. And it costs less per month than just one tiny coffee drink with a made up name in invented sizes from Starbucks.
