WMVY sold to WBUR

Sad to hear of the loss of yet another locally-oriented independent voice on the dial.

The news release mentioned that the "friends of mvy" were ideally looking for another place on the FM dial to set up shop. I won't be holding my breath waiting. Good Luck to them and the Boston Red Sox.

In this part of New England, just trying to find ANY open spot on the dial...AM or FM...is next to impossible, and the very few that ARE available...are not even worth having, two prime examples being: The now silent 1170-WDIS, Norfolk, MA, and the silent 990-WALE.

Enough said.

Maybe they could work out a deal with Dennis Jackson to get on 88 7 WMEX when it goes on the air? Not sure what his plans are for programming, but he has leased his other stations out to other groups, so it may be possible.

Hmm..that 96.5 translator in Newport could be a nice partner to WADK . That could give them a bit of a boost.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. It would be a good time for that play.
