WMWM off air later this month due to electrical work

There is electrical work going on at Salem State College; this weekend there may be a couple short outages as work is being done at Meier Hall (where the antenna is) but I believe WMWM will be off the last week of the month (approx Sat 7/24 thru Sun 8/1) as power is being cut off to the Ellison Campus Ctr where the studios are. In the case of my own show, you can hear me (Sun 12-3 pm)
this Sun 7/4, Pete C. 7/11, Lisa on 7/18, but I think Pete's show on 7/25 and mine on 8/1 will be
squashed.

Some in the Salem or Beverly area might hear something on 91.7 faintly of course...that would be
the Amesbury repeater of WUMB, or WUMB at 91.9 would be strong etc. We're letting our
listeners know about the planned outage for later in the month.

Thanks for the "heads-up" with the planned power outage at good 'ol WMWM. Great station! Loved it back in '80's while living South Weymouth, MA. Yes, South Weymouth! That beautiful water path from Salem to the South Shore brought 91.7 quite well, back then. I was especially pleased when the jock at the time (late at night in the middle of the summer of '80) was able to play "In A Gadda Da Vida" by The Iron Butterfly (ALL 17 minutes and 5 seconds in full Stereo!). It was worth the long distance call to Salem. The jock was really amazed. All the best to the folks at WMWM from your "sister station" from Bridgewater State (WBIM-FM/91.5).

Not surprised you could get it in S. Weymouth then--or even now. Not long ago I was picking it up nr. Nantasket Beach Hull (water path of course). Last year I drove back from the Cape and the
blues DJ who was on (we take turns, and this wk the guy who does country once per month was
on, Jack Smith) was wrapping up his show just before 3 pm and I was getting it on Rt 3 in
Pembroke. Thanks for compliments!
