Last year it looked like the annual Beverly-Salem Thanksgiving Day high school football classic would not
be on radio for the first time in many years. WESX had changed to a foreign/religious format and did not want to
do the game but Salem State's WMWM swooped in and carried it, in association with Moore Stuff
Online. The game took place during heavy rain and pretty much aired without interruption despite the
fact that the crew doing the game were out in the open and had to shield their laptop and the
cellphone modem from the elements, though the very end of the game had to be done via cellphone
only.
This year they intend to do this again. The game will air Thu. Nov 22 at 10 am, live from Salem,
on 91.7 FM. Great that WMWM can continue the tradition of high school football (WBOQ also has done
high school football on Friday nights the past few years)
