Another local station that served its community well back in the day. Back even when they were WHWL they broadcast Nanticoker HS Football games and had a decent news department. I remember for a time, maybe in the 60's they were doing a top 40 format and called the station "Win-ack" - they even had jingles to that effect. At one time I remember when they were above Woolworths they were chaging format and getting rid of their rock records. My cousin and I visited the station and the guy on-air gave us some. Of course that was in the days when Nanticoke actually has businesses along Main and Market streets. Who would advertise on such a station now?
It's kind of a shame that no such station now serves the community.
It would be nice if big band and fifties music was somewhere to be found on the dial.
