Anyone called the school?

School will be back in session Wednesday August 11th. I noticed it was only broadcasting on one channel (not in stereo) about a week ago. So now it is off the air? Maybe it is down for maintenance.

August 11??? Did we lose a war???

I remember when school didn't start until after Labor Day, and that wasn't even that long ago.

Yes, August 11th. Nuts isn't it? When I went we started after Labor Day as well. They might as well go year round. I see where they started in Atlanta yesterday, August 5th.

I hope they get back on. Indiana needs to protect its history and tradition of great high school radio.

man I gotta tell that Rockwell/Collins has really been a work horse! We had so much water in that thing back in '87 I never thought that beast would fire up again. Roof had a leak and water had been running down the back of the coax all weekend. This is back before it was on 24/7. I came in Monday morning to fire that beast up and sparks shot out the circuit breakers in the front! 2 days of heat lamps and hair dryers it fired up and started pumping along again. Never forget the day the tube went and that tranmitter room was FILLED with white smoke. A quick switch out and we were back on in no time. Say what you will but that puppy is a beast. I donated a spare Collins 310z2 exciter to Lee for it about 5-6 years just for back up :)

Nope, don't make them like that anymore. The key is that you have to take care of them, though. Pete does a good job of patching it back up when it needs it.
