Clear Channel Top 40 WNCI/Columbus PD Tony Florentino exits.

Wow. That's huge news. He just got there and has done an excellent job. He must have gotten another job offer. I'm willing to bet Sean Cage will act as interim PD.

It's in All Access.  Shocker!  Sorry to see it happen, whatever the background.

Says he's seeking a new opportunity. Wherever he lands -- and it shouldn't be hard to find an excellent new gig given his performance at NCI -- will have themselves a winner.

The article says that John Crenshaw was moved from OM to only PD of WCOL. I though he was already the COL PD. Does this mean that he was demoted?

Interesting.  That's an update from what they had around 5pm, when all they discussed was Florentino.  And even more of a shocker.  Does sound like a demotion for JbC.

WHOA! That's HUGE news. It sounds to me like he was let go and didn't leave on his own terms, since someone mentioned that he's "Seeking a new opportunity". He could go back to Saga. If it was me, I would've never left Saga for CC. WNCI has had two PDs in three years. Crazy. Maybe this is the beginning of more downsizing at CC. I heard a rumor floating around about that on the Cincinnati board.

There was "rumors" on the Memphis board about Clear Channel going to move "Premium Choice" type programming... and less "local" ...

Will be interesting to see what really happens since "most" stuff on these radio type boards are just "rumors"

Maybe there's good reason for such rumors in this case.  Per 9-9's Taylor on Radio-Info, CC announced that new Senior VP/General Manager of National Programming Platforms  Darren Davis will be "leading the Programming Operations Center and the company’s highly-effective Premium Choice network."  Taylor says,  "That phrase sure makes you think that more centralized programming is in the pipeline, doesn’t it?"

I've heard the same about Premium Choice, especially for markets stations not in the top 10 markets. And in most situations, it won't be voluntary, but mandatory.

Does it seem strange to anyone that John-Boy Crenshaw is slated to be PD for WCOL only? How many CC PD's have a single station without additional duties?? And it's interesting that they know upfront that they want the yet-to-be-hired new NCI/LZT PD to also be the new OM. Wonder why that is?
