WNCV - Changing???

I hear 70s music playing - could this be a sign of things to come? "The best mix of the 70s through the 90s..coast 93.3"

They can just say "for today's best music, flip on over to Z96 - hit music NOW"

-Rob

Why would Coast 93.3 even consider changing anything? They have no competition in their demo now that 103.1 is rocking.

Ask them...I'm hearing more and more 70s music on there so just curious, that could be their future as not everyone in their target demographics likes current CHR/top 40

-Rob

Z96.5 is the CHR - Top 40 station. We're talking about Cumulus' Adult Contemporary sister station, Coast 93.3... right? Z96 is targeting the sub 35 year old kids. Coast 93.3 is targeting Women with spending power under 55 (65?) years old. I'm guessing they just added a few new tracks to regular rotation that have caught your attention.

Coast 93.3 = Soft Rock 94.1 = Lite Mix 99.9 = WOOF 99.7 = Mix 96.9 = V 100.1 = Sunny 98.5

Are you hearing something significantly different on Coast 93.3 than the other AC stations in this list of out of market signals that reach FWB are playing?

I haven't noticed any significant change to Wncv. I do notice what Wave102 is playing a lot more 90's tunes than they used to and fully embracing once again the very successful ::) Jack format.

Rob, what kind of stuff are you hearing? "Piano Man" & "Just the way You Are?"... "Still?"... "Captain of her Heart?"--that kind of shit? These are cuts that work in a W35-64 target, but may be a tad old for the average W25-54. But they generally don't hurt a Mainstream AC. Call it flavoring.

They could just be looking for some kind of separation from the pack. It's all staring to sound the same.

Or maybe they've decided to try to get into the Seabreeze stash. Not easy, I'm sure, but understandable...

Wave was cool for about a year when they had live daytime DJs (or appeared to). Now I wish Quantum would just turn back the clock and bring Eagle 102.1 back.
