WNCX post Maxwell

Sure enough, CBS has posted an ad online with WNCX looking for a morning show host.

It's presumed that the show will be music intensive given how well the last show did.

I hope Nard is one of those auditioning. He would be really good for the station.

That posting also signals that, even if mornings are still music-intensive, that WNCX presumably won't promote from within to assume the morning slot. But it will be much, much more scaled back that Maxwell (or even Scott and Jeff).

I hope that the posting wasn't done just for EEOC purposes.

As for Nard, I have a feeling he might be moved into production if he doesn't get the WNCX gig. Just a guess.

Just for gits and shiggles, what ever wound up happening to Danny Bonaduce?

There was that rumor floating around here (for about 10 minutes) that ol' Danny Partridge would wind up here after his station in Philly flipped to sports.

Supposedly, he wanted to stay in Philly.

It doesn't look like he's back on the air yet. There was talk he might go to CBS' classic hits/oldies outlet in the market, WODS, but that hasn't happened yet.

It seems they're not really 'post Maxwell' yet, any one else look at the RBDS display in the morning? Mine still shows the Maxwell show ID.

FYI: CBS' oldies station in Philly is WOGL; though they do own WODS in Boston, too... That said, I can certainly see Bonaduce fitting in on an oldies station that not only has '70's-themed Sudnay programming, but their HD-2 channel is even dubbed "I Love The '70's". (Of course, the HD-2 takes a backseat for holiday hits two months per year.)

I KNEW that didn't look right when I typed it! Was getting all the CBS/classic hits/sports FM markets confused. :D

From this corner, at least, I haven't heard a THING about Maxwell, Mr. Stansbury or any other members of the WNCX now-former morning crew.

I wonder if WNCX is going out of market, in-house or in-market (looking to see if a potential host already lives in Cleveland)?

I'll throw some names out there. I think Jay Hudson and/or Daune Robinson (both formerly of the now old WMVX "Mix 106.5") should be considered for the slot. They need to be heard on Cleveland radio again. Maybe they can also do shifts at WDOK too. I can easily picture them there too.

Who else should be considered?

I wouldn't think that CBS is going to dump any money into NCX mornings. I'd guess that all of their energy (and dollars) are going into The Fan, and that they are just letting NCX rest on its laurels. Why spend bucks to complete with yourself (Kiley and Booms) and a morning radio juggernaut (WMJI)?? Then again I'm not sure I've even heard Nard ID himself on NCX yet, leads me to believe he could just be a filler.
