WNDR Press Release

I have been a member of Radio-info since it started and Its a new sound for me, a tribute to a legendary music station that I used to work for. http://WNDR.am is a production that was 12 years in the making and I hope you can take the time to check it out and give some feedback. The music is the same and I have had a few differant url's for my internet jukebox, originating out of the Syracuse/Utica area, starting with Channel 1 on SyracuseBroadcast.com in late 1999. Then it became RadioHits.us which brought us onto a Nationwide stage and now the return of WNDR. Talks are in the making for putting this project on a local FM station and we couldnt be more proud of the work. This is really a lot of fun, growing an audience through Facebook (Brian Hofer in Canastota NY) and we thank everyone who tunes in. To make the sound more authentic, I have rendered the services of VO talent Dave Laird who is one of the best sounding voices in the business. The listener driven music has become addictive to people all over the world, which includes a sound that is definately flavored by listeners in Central New York. WNDR.am ....best yet

and just what is so spectacular about this site???? It's an automated dance music format like so many other internet stations and has absolutely no resemblance to the WNDR-1260 of long ago.

When I tuned in, I heard a couple of classic rock tunes -- a hit and an album cut. Again, nothing remotely reminiscent of the WNDR I remember from my SU days in the mid-'70s. Where's Stu Nunnery's "Sally From Syracuse"??? ;D

WNDR will always be Dandy Dan, Big George, Happy Jack, & O. B. to me. Wonder why there wasn't a Dashing Dave Laird?

Thanks for the input.....

You may want to ask him. Probably because he is modest. As for the other four Talents you have mentioned here, I worked with two of them for the better part of 10 years and can honestly tell you that they would be thrilled to hear that this effort, by us, to put WNDR back on the air is available for everyone to hear. You want live jocks 24/7? Im with ya so think outside the end of your own nose and get people to tune in, instead of pooping it off. There is a lot of effort put into keeping a server on the air for as long as I have. Im 45 and if I listen for an afternoon it brings me right back.

Wow. Tough crowd.
This RI group has always been a difficult bunch, which is fine. Some are normal, some dirtbags, and some are just old and crabby once in a while, like me. Cheers, brazeers and all the breasts. I know its old but hopefully it gave you a chuckle.

No fair! Where is the love? Laughing at the Stu Nunnery tune. Some of us would really like to hear that one. Where would you hear that one? Another thought is, when was the term "Classic Rock" invented, and by whom? Im OLD and it is offensive to me when you call me a CLASSIC every two songs.

Since you mentioed that it is a dance music station and that it doesnt remind you of WNDR, im going to take a guess and say that you should play WNDR for your Mom or Dad and then give a reply. No offense.

-Enjoy the Day!

PS: There are actual humans here all of the time. Make friends with us on facebook and post a request. You will find out. Listen for "Sally From Syracuse" tonight at 5:55 pm on http://WNDR.am

"...and her jeans gave her 62 WHEN quite a squeeze!".

Heard it a few minutes early, glad I tuned in! Thanks! But then you went right into "Rock and Roll All Night." I don't think 'NDR ever played that one, they were pretty much an AC by that time, with a playlist much like WHEN's.

Glad you heard it! These are "Holy Cow, I forgot all about that" Tunes. Maybe not exact, formatically but you should still get the feel from the overall presentation.

Quite progressive for its day. I also have "Play Guitar" By John Couger in there LOL.

Wherein the prodigal son returns....

So you've created a tribute station that has absolutely nothing in common with the the music the station actually played?

I'll admit the concept has a certain Zen charm, but the "tribute" part just escapes me.

Your friend forever,
Biggus

P.S.- I'd like to invite everyone to my tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, the annual "Rustlin' and 'Rasslin" Festival. What could possibly honor the great man more than tons of barbecued beef and pork accompanying non-stop violence in the squared circle?

P.P.S.- Hey, remember my prediction that the "new civility" would kill almost any meaningful discussion on the board? Remember all the "what people really want is a mature and respectful conversation and not your childish, if somewhat amusing, commentary" posts?

Pwned!

P.P.S.- Has Nick Kaplan retired to his palatial estate in Florida? Or is he just shackin' up at Bobby DeNiro's place these days?

Hey, it's not what I wanted. I miss you Biggus, and your political blog too!!

You're too kind. It's just sad to see what used to be a vibrant board reduced to this. You never realize how entertaining the blood and thunder was until it's gone.

Your friend forever,
Biggus

It's really hasn't been the same here since Biggus, the little braggard from WSYR and Ed's former program director left the board, or maybe left town.

Say what you will about The Bone and Ed's assorted minions, but you can't deny they displayed some real passion. A barely literate and juvenile passion, to be sure, but passion nonetheless.

When the 'Cuse board was more active and entertaining than the Bingomira board. Goth chicks (never got that BD, but to each his own) and Bone's bravado. Heh, heh... Good times. Tell me Bone's not selling cars for Billy Fucillo.

I think what Biggus thinks.

If more people did this world would be a paradise. One where everyone wore long coats and carried a katana, absinthe replaced flavored vodka as the go-to bar drink, and smokin' hot goth chicks would find middle-aged men with huge schnozzes irresistible. Oh, and a flock of doves would burst into slow motion flight every time you entered a room.

Basically, I want to live in an 80's Prince video directed by John Woo.

Your friend forever,
Biggus

Im am such a faithful follower of Biggus that we will be changing the format of the radio station to meet his needs lol. He is a god, and perfection to key strokes, Radio, and life in general. I have been owned so I will give up. You are the savior. I will never have another day of playing what I want to, growing my hair, or drinking Molson while floating around on my cabin cruiser this summer for that matter. All for the fear that my god, Biggus, will talk about my funky nipples or my wifes perfectly round back side. We should all sit and wait for the next prophecy by the annointed one so we can become "Hip" like he is. Is it ok if I smoke three packs a day waiting for you sir?
