WNDZ 750 audio distortion

What’s with the audio distortion on WNDZ 750 today? Looking at the RF and audio spectra with an online SDR shows there’s clearly a problem. I first noticed it this morning; it wasn’t there a few days ago. Anyone else hearing it?

I seriously doubt anyone who works at the station reads this site. Have you called the station at 773 792 1121 (from radio-locator) since they don't have a web site listed. They might have a Facebook page IDK. There is a fax number listed on the radio-locator if you have a fax machine or use one of the fax apps.

I heard that WNDZ is playing only a 100 song playlist that doesn't get shuffled, it just repeats over and over in the same order. They must be up for sale. At least they are keeping the transmitter on

I would often hear WNDZ right at sign on here in SE WY the first time i lived hgere a few years ago.. sometimes the 10kw daytimer in Grand island, KMMJ 750 wouldnt bother it too much with its 500 watt pre sunrise authority

Not only that, but the songs are played at the same time. If you tune in @ 2:45 PM you will hear Bohemian Rhapsody. Every Day.

Little variety. Crappy music. Not like Access Radio or 750 at all. 1240's guilty of it too, but not as much. 1470 had their oldies/R&B/etc. going for them (which I loved and actually recorded, with leftover tapes).

Something's going on there. It would nice if Pinski (or anyone) made announcements. We would like to know. At least brokered, ethnic (and religious) programming, made them money...which is needed these days. They are not making money, and haven't for almost 2 years.

No, they don't. They were part of Access Radio and owned by Newsweb. For years, they (along with 1240, 1470, and 850) were run from a place on the NW Side. Satellites on the roof fed the signals to the stations' sites.

satellite dishes on a roof meant some programming was coming in from elsewhere at some point, it was likely not feeding audio to local transmitter sites. thats done over the internet or using a microwave/RF STL

While being a daytimer with no FM presence is a tough, if not impossible road to travel, I do think WNDZ has some potential. Mainly being located in a high traffic area of the Chicago AM dial for listeners, squeezed between WGN and WBBM. And this being the third largest market, there might be some leasing interest.

Calling Brother Stair...here's your next affiliate for wall to wall Overcomer Ministry. The next WEW!

with the broadcast day being barely 8am to 430pm in winter and the land potentially being worth alot.. i doubt his one has much potential at all

I have learned one thing when dealing with any asset. It's only worth what someone will pay for it. I would hazard to make a guess on the value of any land.

Some directional fields are in 100 year flood planes where insurance for new structures is difficult assuming you can get a permit to build.. I believe 680 in Atlanta is in a 100 year flood plan.
