WNED-AM 970

WNED-AM 970 is getting increased TSL from this sidelined radio professional. (Sorry Al, I don't have a diary. Wonder if I would have to disqualify myself if Arbitron rang me up?) It's not as if I just discovered WNED-AM, it's long been on my car radio pre-set and sometimes part of my daily or weekend routine. I've long been a fan of the People's Pharmacy, On Point, Marketplace and, before it was canceled, The Connection. Kudos especially to veteran newsman Mark Leitner for his well researched, voiced and produced series on the newspaper business. The series is outstanding. Hearing it on radio motivated me to seek out the earlier segments that I missed by going to the station's website to check out the WNED-AM 970 podcasts.

Please allow me to thank you for the kind words in Mr. Leitner’s name.

The reason that I am responding for him is that, as far as I can tell, he wouldn’t be caught dead on this -or any other- message board.

I agree, he’s done a splendid job on the newspaper series, I guess I’ll hang onto him for awhile.

Ya know, Jim ... listening to WNED does lead to other things ...

tuning in to CBC Radio One or worse yet, Radio Two, buying organic produce at the Lexington Market, and looking for those old Berkinstocks or your Earth Shoes, in the back of the closet and actually wearing them ... it's all downhill from here! LOL :D

Sorry , Al! ;)

Kal,

No offense taken!........Mainly because I don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Al,

Peace, love, hug a tree ... "Kum ba yah, my Lord, kum ba yah!" ... everybody sing now!

Hell, most of the time I have no idea what I'm talking about. LOL

All of us who've ever had the pleasure of working with Mark know not only what a good guy he is, but how talented and thoroughly professional he is...he adds more than a touch of class to everything he does. Glad he came out of retirement from the biz a few years ago to serve Western NY listeners again.
